Inspiration
I wanted to make a semi-hollow version of the Gibson Les Paul Special. I imagined what it would have looked like if Gibson made this style of a guitar in the 50s. I wanted this to look like the Flying V and Explorer of the late 50s. The same Korina wood and gold hardware. Just like those iconic guitars, this one also has a Korina neck. I chose to make P90 looking pickups but they are actually a predecessor of the P90, called the P13 and have solid rod polepieces and not screws.
This guitar was followed up by 241 - 071122, which is a solid body version of this guitar with Nickel hardware.
