Inspiration

My goal here was to build a Z-Bich lighter than the previous Z-Bich 252 - 141223, which is 5.1 lb. I wanted this one to be under 5 lbs. However that did not happen for two reasons. This Obeche body is a little bit heavier. the Mahogany neck is a bit heavier and the Charlie Christian pickups are a lot more heavier, given the 38 AWG wire used. There is a lot of copper in there.

It is rather odd to put Charlie Christian style pickups on a Bich but I thought it would be interesting and make it even more unique. The pickups are entirely hand fabricated, including the bobbin and the steel pole pieces. The bridge is a the kind which locks on the posts. This is a very solid platform, yet as simple and minimalist as possible.
I wanted to stay with just a 3-way rotary switch. Too many switching options might also distracts from the purity of the instrument. At 5.3 lbs it is a joy to play sitting or standing. A unique experience.

Its a fantastic guitar, as all Z guitars are. I make every one of them for myself, so it has to be the best and perform at the highest standards in every regard.
I often think that the biggest enemy of these guitars is the ignorance of individuals. If these guitars get into the hands of idiots, they literally don't know what to do with them. Its like taking a fine piece of machinery to the jungle and expecting the indigenous savages to make use of it and keep it in top condition. These days the situation is  increasingly getting worse as the entire population of the world is being dumbed down and toxified physically and mentally. For this reason I don't see why anyone would need a Zachary guitar or know what to do with it.
